Project

This work was created in situ by Azuma in an arts centre in Lambersart in the French city of Lille, following an invitation from the Lille 3000 festival. Around 4,000 flowers of some 6o varieties, obtained locally, were individually vacuum-sealed in plastic and hung from the ceiling to form a cylindrical shape. The work was divided into two sections, one filing the entire three-metre height of the ground floor, and another measuring six metres in height on the floor above, creating the illusion of one huge, continuous pillar. The exhibition also featured ten photographs from the LEAF MAN series, and twenty 'Concrete × Bull' images.

この作品は、フランスの都市リールのランベラールにあるアートセンターで、リール3000フェスティバルからの招待を受けて東がその場で制作した。地元で入手した約6種類、約4000本の花をひとつひとつビニールで真空パックし、天井から吊るして円筒形にした。作品は2つのセクションに分けられ、1つは1階の高さ3m全体をファイリングし、もう1つはその上の階に高さ6mのものを設置し、1本の巨大な柱が連続しているような錯覚を起こさせた。展覧会では、「リーフマン」シリーズの写真10点と、「コンクリート×ブル」の写真20点も展示された。
