Paludarium, a small conservatory invented in England in the 19th century, is a plant protection machine that has been later exhibited at the Paris Expo and such. People placed a precious plant shipped from foreign lands inside of a glass-walled container, and appreciated watching its growing cycles at different lands and at their home far away from the plant's own home. The series of "Paludarium" is a result of new interpretation of Paludarium, which is now equipped with various functions and transformed into a contemporary encapsulated environmental system. "Paludarium HIROMI" is the 8th version of this series.
This device is the first in the series to feature a separate type of multiple structure, consisting of three units, each with a cylindrical glass storage unit flanked by smaller storage units on both sides. Plants can be managed according to their growth status in the main and subunits, and users can take advantage of the unique features of each of the three units, such as moving plants nurtured in the flanking storage units to the main room for admiration.
The storage units are equipped with a misting system that envelops the entire space in fog-like mist and a drip-style watering system that can be operated according to the situation, allowing for thorough management of watering and temperature/humidity control for the plants. In addition, natural light is captured from all angles through the storage unit body, and fans are installed on the ceiling to simulate the role of wind. By incorporating essential elements for plants such as mist, wind, light, and sound artificially, users can admire plants without being affected by external environmental conditions.

パルダリウムと呼ばれる小さな温室は19世紀のイギリスで発明され、その後パリ万博にも出展された植物保管機である。
ガラス張りの容器の中に異国の地から運ばれてくる貴重な植物を入れ、人々はその生育のサイクルをまた別の土地で、遠く離れた自国で観賞するために使用した。
このパルダリウムに新たな解釈を施し、さまざまな機能を装備することで密閉型環境システムとして現代に置き換えた作品がパルダリウムシリーズであり、【パルダリウムひろみ】は本シリーズの第8弾となる。
シリーズ初のセパレートタイプのマルチプル構造で、円筒形のガラス収納ユニットの両側に小型の収納ユニットを配置した3つのユニットから構成されている。植物はメインユニットとサブユニットで生育状況に応じた管理が可能で、脇の収納ユニットで育てた植物をメインルームに移動して観賞するなど、3ユニットそれぞれの特徴を生かした使い方ができる。収納ユニットには、空間全体を霧のようなミストで包み込むミストシステムや、状況に応じて操作できる点滴式の散水システムを備え、植物の水やりや温湿度管理を徹底している。また、収納庫本体を通してあらゆる角度から自然光を取り込み、天井には風の役割を模したファンを設置。ミスト、風、光、音といった植物にとって必要な要素を人工的に取り入れることで、外部環境に左右されることなく植物を鑑賞することができる。
