植物と音楽を融合させる試みとして、
これまでも国内外さまざまなバンドを迎え
植物に命を吹き込むライブを行ってきたAMKK。
今回はそのBotanical Installation Live第5弾として「envy」を迎える。

envyは1992年結成以来、国内外で高い評価を受けるポストハードコアバンド。
激情と静寂を行き来する圧倒的なダイナミクスで、光と影を孕んだ音像を築いてきた。
今回は茨城・旧海軍施設跡地という特異な空間で、
咲き乱れる満開の桜と音楽の共演を試みる。

桜は、日本人にとって特別な存在であり続けてきた。
咲き誇る瞬間と、散りゆく予感が同時に存在するその姿は、
日本人特有の美意識を象徴する。

過剰な情報が絶え間なく流れ、
感情が最適化され、消費されていくこの時代。
刹那を極限まで凝縮した桜の花々と、
胸の奥から絞り出されるような彼らの音楽がぶつかるとき、
空間は境界を失い、音と花に侵食されていく。

春、満開に咲き乱れる桜の下で
光と影、孤独と衝動を内包するenvyの魂のサウンドが鳴り響く。

As an ongoing exploration of the harmony between plants and sound,
AMKK has invited artists from around the world to breathe life into botanical installations through live performance.
For the fifth installment of this Botanical Installation Live series, we welcome the legendary post-hardcore band “envy”.

Formed in 1992, envy has earned international acclaim for their visceral soundscapes that traverse between fury and stillness, crafting music that embodies both light and shadow.
This time, their performance unfolds within a hauntingly beautiful space — the remains of a former naval facility in Ibaraki — where a sea of cherry blossoms will bloom in full glory.

For centuries, the cherry blossom has held a sacred place in the Japanese heart.
Its fleeting beauty — the moment of full bloom coexisting with the quiet promise of its fall — mirrors the essence of Japanese aesthetics: the grace of impermanence.

In an age overwhelmed by information, where emotions are streamlined and consumed,
this live installation seeks to reclaim the raw, unfiltered moment.
When the ephemeral bloom of the sakura collides with the primal sound of envy,
the boundaries of the space dissolve — until all that remains is the pulse of sound and the breath of flowers.

This spring, beneath a canopy of blossoms in full bloom,
envy’s soul-stirring sound — carrying both light and darkness, solitude and impulse — will echo through the night,
as if the music itself were blooming alongside the sakura.
